DHE Odisha +2 2017: First merit List out

The Department of Higher Education of Odisha (Orissa) has announced the first merit list for the students seeking admission in all Junior Colleges of the state on 13th June,2017. The list which includes the names of candidates who will be called for the first round of selection is available from 11 am onward on www.dheodisha.gov.in , as per the official schedule released by the Higher Education Department. This year, a total of 1578 colleges have participated in the e-admission process.

 

Odisha government’s e-admission through SAMS (Students Academic Management System) for all 2 junior educational institutions in the State has simplified the application process to a great extent. Students can now check the cut-off marks of any college in their state at SAMS. Online CAF was invited from applicants for applying to courses in Self Financing (Junior) Educational institutions, Vocational & Sanskrit Educational institutions, as well.

 

Online and offline admissions will be held to fill out 4,19,641 seats. There are 2,27,790 seats in Arts stream, 1,30,018 in Science and 42,835 for students opting to study Commerce.Cut-offs have been declared category wise. 22.55 per cent of seats are reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST) and 16.25 per cent for Scheduled Caste (SC).

Ravenshaw (Junior) College in Cuttack has the highest cut off percentage in Science stream at 93.17 %. Buxi Jagabandhu Bidyadhar (BJB) College , a renowned institute in Bhubaneswar, has set the first cut off in Science stream at 92.67%. The cut-offs for Commerce and Arts streams are 80.33% and 70.5 % respectively.

 

The second merit list will be released on 22 June 2017. Three merit lists will be announced by DHE in a phase wise manner; the last one on 3 July 2017. Classes for +2 (1st year) students will commence from 6 July 2017. Candidates must keep an eye on the official web portal for timely updates.

 

Steps to check DHE Odisha + 2 Merit List 2017:  

  • Visit the official website mentioned above
  •  On the homepage, click on Plus 2 Merit List 2017
  • Enter your registration number, date of birth, gender and verification code in the space provided.
  • Click on submit button
  • Check the Plus 2 Merit List on screen
  • Download and save it.
  • Take a print out of DHE Orissa Plus 2 Merit List 2017 for future reference.
